OLDE FASHIONED CHRISTMAS CELEBRATION

On Saturday December 3, 2011 at 4:15pm Santa’s friends from the Portage District Fire Department will be guiding him through the streets of the village as he announces his arrival and opens the 2011 Holiday Season.

At 4:45pm the large Village Christmas tree located at Adolphus Kraemer Park will be magically lit by Santa.

Then each child will have the opportunity to share their Christmas wish list with Santa at the Portage Fire Station. After their visit with Santa the children will then receive hot cocoa and a cookie and design their own packaging for their special gifts from Santa’s Secret Shop. The children will be able to shop for two (2) free gift items for their loved ones from Santa’s Shop which will be located upstairs in the fire station. These activities will be available from 5pm-7pm.

Santa will also be at the Log Cabin from 6pm-8pm on Dec 9th & 16th, 2011.

OAK HARBOR AREA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE ‘PARADE OF TREES’

A time honored Holiday tradition, Christmas Trees on Parade will light up the town again this year. Friends, family, businesses and organizations are invited to sponsor a tree as a memorial, an honorary gift or a seasonal greeting.

A sign will be placed at each tree displaying the special message and the sponsor.

The trees will be displayed on the light posts in the OakHarbor village from December 1st to January 1st.

Cost for a tree is $35.00, and all proceeds go towards the Olde Fashioned Christmas Celebration. Forms are currently available online at www.oakharborohio.net, or at the Chamber office, 161 W. Water St, OakHarbor.
